Abstract

Water resources that can be obtained in this area include rivers, rain and springs. Padang Pariaman Regency is located in an area with lots of hills, making this area have many springs. So that this spring can be used for the survival of the population in the area. One of the uses of this spring can be done by planning and building a reservoir, where later the construction of this reservoir will be used for irrigation activities and clean water needs for the local population and also used to accommodate shortages and excess water. Padang Pauh area - Galapung Ulakan Tapakis Village, is a location with a fairly high degree of rainfall, namely with a rainfall intensity (I) of 126.432 mm/hour and the planned flood discharge for the 5 year return period is 0.832 m3/second. From the results of the above calculations, it is found that the capacity value of the existing drainage channel on Jalan Padang Pauh- Kampung Galapung Ulakan Tapakis is (Qs) 0.44224 m3/second, which is less than the planned flood discharge (Qr) of 0.832 m3/second so that the existing drainage is not capable. accommodate rainfall in the Jalan Padang Pauh-Kampung Galapung Ulakan Tapakis area.
